Sustainability with a forward direction
The future of aviation is shaped by technology, innovation, and a clear responsibility for both the environment and the people who travel. We believe that sustainability is about concrete decisions, smart development, and a long-term perspective where efficiency, climate responsibility, and societal benefit go hand in hand. Skåne Aviation intends to be active in development and hopes to contribute to the aviation of tomorrow.
Environmental Sustainability
SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuels) is the first real alternative to fossil aviation fuel. SAF is produced from used cooking oils and fats and reduces carbon dioxide emissions by about 80 percent over the entire lifecycle compared to fossil raw materials. Skåne Aviation aims to use an average of 10% renewable aviation fuel.
The development of aviation is driven by innovation, efficiency, and more thoughtful working methods. For us, future solutions involve a holistic perspective where both large and small measures together contribute to real change.
The industry is undergoing a clear transition with more efficient aircraft, optimized flight routes, and more resource-efficient operations that reduce climate impact. Digitization and data-driven planning make it possible to use resources more smartly and reduce unnecessary fuel consumption over time.
At the same time, much of the development is happening on the ground. Airports are investing in energy-efficient buildings, renewable energy, electrified ground equipment, and smarter logistics solutions that reduce emissions in daily operations. Even small improvements in processes, energy use, and supplier choices are important parts of the whole.
Electrification, including electric flight, is part of the long-term development, especially for shorter regional distances. At the same time, the technology is still under development and is currently seen as a complement to other sustainable solutions.
Our starting point is to work both strategically and practically - to implement improvements in both large and small ways while following and supporting future technological solutions for more sustainable aviation.
Social Sustainability
Sustainability is also about people. Aviation connects regions, enables work, education, and meetings across borders, thus playing an important role in social development. By prioritizing social responsibility, both local communities and long-term relationships are strengthened.
We take social responsibility by connecting important regions, thereby reducing days away from family, relatives, and friends. In this way, life quality is increased, which hopefully leads to more satisfied individuals, reduces sick leave, and contributes to a healthier work environment.
